Beginning & Intermediate Belly Dance Classes

Wednesdays: January 17th - May 7th
7:10-8:10pm | Beginning Belly Dance and Middle Eastern Rhythms with Live Drumming

8:15-9:15pm | Intermediate Belly Dance and Drum Solo Technique & Creation with Live Drumming

Beginning Belly Dance and Middle Eastern Rhythms
This class will break down the basic Middle Eastern Rhythms so that dancers are able to identify and understand each rhythm. We will go over different ways to dance to the rhythms and how they combine to create a Belly Dance set. This class is great for all levels from beginning to advanced. 

Intermediate Belly Dance and Drum Solo Technique & Creation
We will start with layered drilling to the drum and then we will learn ways to communicate with the drummer, identify rhythms, and give dancers the chance to create choreography to sections of a drum solo. 
*It is recommended that you have more than 1 year of prior belly dance knowledge to take the intermediate class

Series taught with live drumming and co-instruction by Faisal Zedan. Faisal is a master of Arabic Music and rhythms he plays the Derbakki (Doumbek), Riqq, Duhulla and frame drums. For more information about Faisal check out his website:
